Vintage 1950s Poodle Box Handbag

Vintage 1950s Poodle Box Handbag. A wonderfully kitsch vintage box handbag dating to circa 1957. This is a bag that just oozes character, it has a stiff box shaped body made from deep blue woven plastic, that looks like wicker, bamboo handles, gold-tone metal mounts and twist clasp and is lined in vinyl. The front of the bag features two bubble gum pink poodle dogs in leatherette, decorated with beads and faux pearls, the whole decorative panel is protected with a layer of thick clear vinyl and edged with gold braid. The inside of the bag is nice and roomy, with a zipper pocket and the cloth makers label, which reads: ADG Fashion Imports, made in Hong Kong. The bag also features small gold-tone metal feet to the base, to prevent it getting scuffed. The handbag measures approx 9 inches / 22.5 cm tall (excluding the handles, which add a further 5 inches / 12.5 cm to the height), 12 inches / 30 cm across and 3.5 inches / 8.75 cm deep. The bag shows no signs of wear, flaws or damage, excellent condition.
