Vintage 1950s Painted Paisley Red Velvet Handbag & Hat set. This is a really wonderful vintage handbag and matching hat set, dating to circa 1956. The handbag is a large bag, with a stiffened body, covered in Red velvet, which has a fabulous Paisley pattern picked out in Silver and Blue. This delightful handbag has a Gold-tone metal frame and flip clasp, and is lined in Pale Pink satin, with a small zipper Pocket and stamped in Gold with the makers name 'Sir David' New York. Finally, the handbag is topped off with a top mounted fold down handle, in Barley twist marbled Lucite. The hat matches the handbag, in Red Paisley patterned velvet, it has a wide brim made up of pleated tiers of the fabric and features a shallow crown. This is a fantastic vintage handbag and matching hat set, adding instant vintage elegance to any outfit, so it's the perfect addition to your retro or vintage inspired wardrobe or clothing collection. The vintage handbag measures approx 12 inches / 30 cm across and 10 inches / 25 cm tall (excluding the handle, which adds a further 5 inches / 12.5 cm to the height). The handbag has a small patch which has darkened slightly on one side, but, this does not distract from this divine set, which is fully useable and clean inside and out, with no other flaws or damage, very good condition.
