Antique Victorian Chatlain Clothes Brush. A really beautiful little English antique chatlain clothes brush, dating to circa 1885. This pretty antique clothes brush has a gilt metal casing with repousse Arts and Crafts decoration and a black velvet brush. This tiny item was designed to remove hairs and other bits o fluff from ones clothing and it has a tiny gilt chainand O ring so it would have been attached to a ladies chatlain. A chatlain was worn by ladies of the house, it had a hook to attach it to the waist band of her dress, with chains to hang useful items such as a pencil, small note book, magnifying glass, clothes brush, etc… The antique chatlain clothes brush measures approx 1.5 inches / 3.75 cm long and 1 inch / 2.5 cm across. This chatlain clothes brush is in great shape, it has light rubbing due to age, but, no other flaws or damage, very good condition.
