Vintage 1940s Faux Enamel and Marquisite Powder Compact. A very sweet vintage powder compact, dating to circa 1948. This is a wonderful little compact in silver-tone metal, with shiney black celluloid faux enamel pannels to the front and back, and with a marquisite leaf decoration on the lid. The edges of the compact are decorated with embossed flowers. Inside the compact is really special, it has its original powder guard and puff, it takes lose powder. Inside the lid is a mirror and this opens to reveal a little rouge compartment, complete with the original rouge puff. This is a wonderful little powder compact, perfect for display or use. The powder compact measures approx 2.5 inches / 6.25 cm across. The powder compact shows only the lightest signs of very gentle use and no flaws or damage, very good condition.
