Antique Victorian Cream Hand Embroidered Silk Childs Cape. This is a beautiful English antique Victorian childs cape, dating to circa 1860. This is a really lovely antique cape, in cream silk taffetta, with cream silk hand embroidered flowers and hand made frothy lace edging. The cape fastens with tiny glass buttons and it has three parts, the main full length body, which has embroidery along the bottom edge, then a shorter shoulder cape overlay, which is also embroidered and has lace edging and finally an embroidered lace edged collar. This is a really exquisite piece of antique childrens clothing and it is a wonderful display piece. The cape measures approx 40 inches / 100 cm. This antique cape is in good shape, however, there are a few small points of wear to the main taffeta body, but, the embroidery and hand made lace is in great condition, overall this item is in solid condition, but it will need to be treated with care. No damage, good condition.
