Antique 1920s Ladies Gamages Clown Costume Ref: 5149Le Antique 1920s Ladies Gamages Clown Costume. A wonderful vintage clown costume in black sateen cotton, with cream wool pom-poms dating to circa 1927. The clown costume comprises a pair of elasticated waist straight leg trousers, with pom-poms on the bottom of each leg and a matching tunic with a round neckline, press-stud fasteners, stright bodice, patch pockets, two pom-poms to the front and bell sleeves, with a pom-pom on each. The out fit is a one size fits all and will easily fit a lad up to a size 16 UK, 12 USA and 44 Europe. The clown outfit features its cloth makers label, which reads: Gamages, theatrical Costumiers, Holborn, E.C. I suspect that the suit may have originally had more pom-poms down the front, and the waist elastic needs replacing, but otherwise it is in great shape, with no damage, overall very good condition.
