Antique 1920s Hand Embroidered Garlands Evening Bag. This very pretty little antique evening bag is hand embroidered with garlands of red roses and blue posies on a rich chocolate brown background and dates to circa 1923. The bag features a gold-tone chain handle and a wonderful metal frame, which is inlaid with mother of pearl shell and further decorated with delicate enamel flowers. The evening bags 1920s charm is completed by the lining, which is in a beautiful fabric distinctive of the period. This evening bag is such a pretty accessory, it will make a wonderful addition to your antique and vintage evening bag collection and add a touch of vintage or antique chic to any outfit! The evening bag measures approx 5 inches / 12.5 cm across and tall, (excluding the handle, which adds a further 5 inches / 12.5 cm to the height). The bag is in great shape, the only point to mention is that it looks like there may have been mother of pearl inlay on the front and back of the frame, but it is no longer present on the back of the bag, but this does not distract from the beautiful evening bag. There are only very light signs of gentle use and the bag retains all its original charm. Overall very good condition.
