Antique Victorian Cream Silk Evening Cape. A truely beautiful English antique Victorian silk cape, dating to circa 1850. This reversible cape is a really fabulous piece of clothing history. The cape has a quilted and slightly padded cream silk satin, with one side in plain quilted silk and the other side in brocade weave silk. The cape has a wonderful deep collar that is edged in Mongolian wool and internally boned and can be worn stood up or folded over. The cape fastenss at the neck withe a wide cream satin ribbon tie. This cape has some light wear, but it is in good solid condition and it is a fabulous piece of antique clothing that just ouzes quality and elegance and so it's a perfect addition to your antique chic or vintage chic warobe or clothing collection. The cape is circular and measures approx 18 inches / 45 cm long. One size fits all. As conditon this is in great shape, there are light signs of wear and a small point of wear to the silk at the back of the collar on the neckline on the plain side, a couple of small areas of wear to the silk at the hem on the patterned side and a couple of tiny (1/2 inch / 1.25 cm) holes to the silk on the patterned side. These flaws are minor and don't distract from this stunning antique cape. Overall very good condition.
