Antique Chalmers of New Guinea Childrens Book. A wonderful antique English story book, dating to circa 1918, the book was produced and distributed in religous sunday schools. The book was designed for children and tells the story of Mr Chalmers the martyr missionary, written by Walter Seton. The book is a small cloth-bound, hard-backed edition and features a wonderful rust coloured illustrated cover and a black and white illustrated front plate featuring James Chalmers. The book also features its original presentation plate insdie the cover, which reads: Wellgate Primative Methodist Sunday School Prize awarded to Norman Shaw, for services rendered, anniversary, 1918. There is light wear conducive to age and use, no damage, overall very good condition.
