Vintage 1930s Black Floral Embroidered Royalty Compact Evening Bag. A fantastic French vintage compact evening bag, covered in Black brushed satin fabric, with wonderful hand embroidered chain stitch floral detailing and dating to circa 1931. This compact evening bag is such a wonderful piece, it has a metal interior, with push clasp fastener, and it has a mirror inside the lid. There's a small powder compact section, with matching brushed satin lid, a compartment for a small pen or pencil and a small compartment for you money, with brushed satin lid, and finally your dance card and hanky tuck in on top of the mirror, and hey presto you have everything a lady needs for an evening out dancing! There is a small pocket for other bits and pieces and the inside of the compact is stamped: Royalty, made in France, Paris. The bag has a gold-tone metal frame and chain. This is a wonderful evening bag that is perfect for the evening and large enough to hold the essentials, and as it's so pretty, it's the perfect addition to your vintage chic wardrobe or handbag collection. The evening bag measures approx 5 inches / 12.5 cm across 4 inches / 15 cm tall (excluding the handle, which adds 4 inches / 10 cm and 1 inch / 2.5 cm deep. This evening bag is in great shape, there are light signs of gentle use, no damage, very good condition.
