Antique French Art Nouveau Wood Framed Handbag. A really beautiful French antique handbag, that dates to circa 1902. This is a wonderful handbag, with a cloth body and wooden frame. The cloth body is in cream linen, with brown felt edging and hand embroidered circle motifs. The wooden frame is in dark brown wood, with black ebonised wood spots. The handbag also has a a push button clasp, with a wooden push button that matches the frame. The handbag is lined in a soft pale brown fabric and has the original makers label, which reads: made in France, Alexander and Oviatt Los Angeles. The hand bag measures approx 6 inches / 15 cm across and 7 inches / 17.5 cm tall (excluding the handle, which adds another 5 inches / 12.5 cm to the height). As to condition, this is in great shape, with only very light signs of gentle use, the only flaw is a crack to each side of the frame, but this hasn't compromised the structure of the frame and doesn't distract from this beautiful antique handbag. Overall very good condition.
