Vintage 1950s Clear Plastic Box Handbag. A fantastic retro vintage plastic box handbag, dating to circa 1950. This is such a wonderful handbag, it's got oudles of retro charm and it's the perfect addition to your retro chic or vintage chic wardrobe or bag collection.The handbag has a clear plastic body, decorated on all sides with Black Sillouette images of ladies and gentlemen of the Victorian period. The handbag also has gold-tone metal mounts and handles. The handbag measures approx 5 inches / 12.5 cm deep, 10 inches / 25 cm across and 5 inches / 12.5 cm tall (excluding the handles, which add another 6 inches / 15 cm to the height). As to condition, this box bag is in great shape for its age, there are only a couple of minor flaws to note. There is a very small crack (1/2 inch / 125 cm long) to the corner of the lid, theres a little light rubbing to the gold-tone finish and the plastic has Yellowed a little due to age, overall good condition. A rare piece of handbag design, few of this type of bag survive.
