Vintage 1950s Marquessa Classic Tooled Leather Handbag. This classic vintage handbag is made from rich chocolate coloured leather, tooled to look like lizard skin, produced by the quality handbag makers Marquessa and dates to circa 1953. The handbag has a solid body with a gold tone metal flip clasp, mounts and frame, which features a strip of matching mock lizard skin. The interior of this fabulous vintage bag is fully lined in soft tan coloured suede, with a szipper pocket, a mirror pocket, with mirror and a coin purse pocket, with Brown satin coin purse and the cloth makers label, which reads: Marquessa, made in England. This lovely well made handbag is a vintage wardrobe staple and would make a wonderful addition to your vintage handbag collection. The vintage handbag measures approx 25 cm / 10 inches across and 15 cm / 6 inches tall, excluding handle, which adds a further 6 inches / 15 cm to the height. The vintage bag has tiny points of rubbing to the Gold-tone finish on the corners of the clasp and it has one of the tiny metal feet missing from the bottom, but, it is fully useable, very clean inside and out, with no other flaws or damage, good condition.
