Vintage 1930s Whiting & Davis Cream Enamelled Mesh & Bakelite Handbag with Bakelite Handle. This fabulous Art Deco vintage handbag is made by the classic handbag design company Whiting & Davis and dates to circa 1938. This American company are the definitive manufacturers of aluminium mesh evening and handbags and this bag is a real show piece. The vintage Art Deco handbag has a large body made from Cream enamelled aluminium tiles connected in a mesh. The vintage handbag has a delightful Art Deco ivory coloured carved bakelite frame, chunky kiss clasp and chain link handle. The spacious interior is fully lined in Aubergine faille cloth with an interior pocket and the famous Whiting & Davis company label. This bag is a real statement piece, that will add vintage style to any outfit and so it's a wonderful addition to your antique and vintage wardrobe or collection. This wonderful vintage Art Deco handbag is just the right size for all your bits and pieces and it measures approx 11 inches / 27.5 cm across and approx 8 inches / 20 cm tall, excluding handle, which adds a further 6 inches / 15 cm to the height. This fabulous vintage handbag has light rubbing to a few of the enamelled tiles on the corners, it is fully useable, very clean inside and out and there are no other flaws or damage, very good condition.
