Vintage 1940s Whiting & Davis Multi-Coloured Enamelled Mesh Evening Bag. This fabulous vintage evening bag is made by the classic handbag design company Whiting & Davis and dates to circa 1949. This American company are the definitive manufacturers of aluminium mesh evening and handbags and this bag is a real show piece. The vintage evening bag has a fluid body made from Gold-tone metal tiles connected in a mesh and decorated with a multi-coloured design in enamel. The vintage evening bag has a delightful Gold-tone metal frame and chain link handle and kiss clasp. The spacious interior is fully lined in Pink satin, with a small interior pocket, and the famous Whiting & Davis company label and stamp on the frame. This is a real statement piece, that will add vintage style to any outfit and so it's a wonderful addition to your antique and vintage wardrobe or bag collection. This wonderful vintage evening bag is just the right size for all essentials for an evening out in style, and it measures approx 9 inches / 22.5 cm across and approx 7 inches / 17.5 cm tall excluding handle, which adds a further 5 inches / 12.5 cm to the height. This fabulous vintage evening bag has a small repair to themesh on one side near to the frame and the lining is quite marked from use, but, it is fully useable, and there are no other flaws or damage, fair condition.
