Vintage Coalport China Cottage The Red House. This is a charming china cottage produced by Coalport in 'The Red House' design. This beautiful little cottage and many others were originally produced by Coalport as replicas of early 1800s pastille burners. These were designed to burn incense or pastilles to fragrance a room and were often in the shape of a house so that the smoke could escape through its little chimney. These burners became very collectable at the beginning of the 20th century and Coalport began production of their own cottage designs. These have subsequently become highly collectable in their own right. Each cottage is hand painted and its design has a signature name. The cottage is base stamped Coalport 'The Red House' Made in England. This Coalport cottage is a lovely ornament and a real collectors piece making it the perfect addition to your vintage home or collection. With no flaws or damage the Coalport cottage is in excellent condition.
