Antique Victorian Chinese Sterling Silver Metal Mesh Coin Purse. A very sweet little antique coin purse, dating to circa 1895. This is a charming antique purse made from metal mesh or chain mail, mounted on a Sterling Silver frame, with a chain handle. Inside the purse is a hinged, framed mesh divider, which gives two compartments. This charming little coin purse has a fabulous little frame in Sterling Silver, engraved with an ornate bamboo design, with an oval Cartouch which is inscribed with the name: May. The little purse was made in Hong Kong by the Wang Hing & Co Silver Company and is hallmarked with the export Chinese Silver mark and the Wang Hing makers mark. This wonderful antique coin purse measures approx 3.5 inches / 8.75 cm tall (plus the chain height of approx 3 inches / 7.5 cm) and 2.5 inches / 6.25 cm across. This fantastic antique coin purse has a couple of dropped links, it is fully useable and has no other flaws or damage, very good condition.
