Antique Edwardian Enamel Framed Chain Stitch Evening Bag. This is an exquisite antique evening bag, dating to circa 1910. This delightful antique evening bag has a cloth body, totally covered in very fine chian stitch embroidery, in the most wonderful muted tones of pink, green, blue, cream and orange. The embroidered design is amazingly intricate and the evening bag is embroidered on all sides and even has a little embroidered pull to open the bag with and an embroideredrear handle or glove strap. This charming antique evening bag has a beautiful brass frame, decorated, with with orange enamel on the front and back and it fastens with a little kiss clasp, which features darling lemon yellow glass finials. Inside this divine evening is no less sumptous, with a thick taffetta silk lining is delicate shell pink, the interior also features a gathered pocket and is stamped in gold:made in France. The inside of the frame is also stamped: Made in France. This is such a beautiful evening bag or purse, that will add instant antique charm to any outfit and it's unique, so no one else will have the same, making it the perfect addition to your vintage or antique wadrobe or handbag collection! The evening bag is big enough for all your essentials for an evening out. The bag measures approx 6 inches / 15 cm across and tall. The evening bag is a rare find, it is imacculate, the only point I can find to mention two small 1 penny piece size very faint marks to the lining inside, one looks like the residue from an old sticker and the other a very light smudge of makeup. This delightful antique evening bag has no other signs of wear, flaws or damage, it is fully useable and in excellent condition.
